Simply Aging

VII. Supplementary

55. Where will the field be in the next 5 to 10 years?

We may expect: organ- and subsystems-resolved aging maps and clinically qualified aging biomarkers; routine real-time biological age monitoring (omics/digital/wearables/imaging); major advances in replacement; insights from long-lived species on complex interventions that slow aging; and advances in theoretical understanding of aging. But we should keep in mind that major solutions to aging may also come from adjacent fields, including AI, engineering, synthetic biology, transplantation, reproductive biology, and regenerative medicine.
