10. What is negligible senescence?
Negligible senescence is a demographic description that refers to little or no detectable increase in age-specific mortality and little or no decline in reproduction or performance after maturity. However, some of such organisms may still age (increasing their deleteriomes), revealing uncoupling between aging and mortality. One example of such apparent negligibly senescent species that in fact ages is the naked mole rat.
