Simply Aging

VII. Supplementary

33. What is the evidence that aging is modifiable in mammals?

The clearest evidence comes from interventions that reproducibly extend lifespan and delay multiple age-related phenotypes in mice (e.g. dietary restriction paradigms, mTOR inhibition, select genetic manipulations), alongside concordant shifts in molecular and functional measures. The remaining questions are how general those effects are across genotypes, sexes, environments, and endpoints.
